Inter comfortably beat Fiorentina 3-1 in the league last weekend. The Nerazzurri raced to a 2-0 lead by half time thanks to goals from Giampaolo Pazzini and Esteban Cambiasso. Alberto Gilardino raised brief hopes of a Fiorentina comeback with his 74th minute strike, but the hopes of the Viola were crushed two minutes later when Philippe Coutinho struck a fabulous free kick to restore Inter’s two goal lead.

Napoli suffered a shock loss to US Lecce last weekend. Daniel Corvia gave Lecce the lead early in the second half from the penalty spot, but the forward turned villain just five minutes later when he was sent off. Giuseppe Mascara then equalised for Napoli, who too were reduced to ten men when Edinson Cavani received his marching orders sixteen minutes from time. Javier Chevanton then struck a controversial winner two minutes from time as Lecce picked up three priceless points in their quest for survival.

After seeing their good run of form halted by Udinese last weekend, Napoli face another stern test of their European credentials when they host defending champions Inter Milan this Sunday.
