Paula Abdul to star in 'Ugly Betty'

Los Angeles, Aug 13 (PTI) Paula Abdul may have said good bye to 'American Idol', but the former popstar has no plans to lie low as she is already in talks to join the cast of the superhit sitcom 'Ugly Betty'.

The former American Idol judge is negotiating an acting role on the show, which has featured Lindsay Lohan and Victoria Beckham in cameo roles in the past, reported Entertainment Weekly.

Ironically, Beckham took Abdul's Idol judging chair when she sat in on auditions in Denver, Colorado last week.

Though there is no word yet about Abdul's character in the series, insiders told the magazine that the popstar is in talks to play an office temptress who bonds with Becki Newton's catty character Amanda.

If a deal can be made, this would mark Abdul?s first official post-Idol gig.
